What a weird storm, we had an "eye", got all clear and calm, so we went for a walk with Muffin.
Then about 30 minutes into the walk, whammo!, up came a screeching wind, temp dropping, and we turned tail and headed for home.
Gusted to 65 knots in West Falmouth, and we lost many many branches, but in the village, several trees came down, power was off for a long time. Not here however, as Daddy mentioned it was about time to start the generator as the sun had set, and our power was restored. Coal stove and wood stove keeping us toasty warm.
Look at the image, it shows almost 80 MPH!
And the Weather Channel gave us more than that, when the squall came across.
Everybody calling on the phone to see if we are OK, and people wanting me to check on their houses.
Then it snowed so hard you couldnt see anything, coated all the trees on the NW sides.
Whew, its nice today.
Sunday, we walked down to the beach, some damage and some smaller trees down, a big pine down on 29 Grove St., damaged their roof.
So sad about all the lovely old Maple trees in the Village. The DPW will have to saw them all up and take them away.
