Previous pictures here, look for the Month

There are several parts to this blog, so to see the previous pictures, look for the month and click on that link.
The problem is that April, and May are superimposed on top of the flower picture, so those links are a bit difficult to see. So scroll down and look for the yellow links with month names on top of the picture with yellow flowers. Sorry, if I could make the text larger or a different color, I would. I am new at this, so eventually I will learn how to make those links easier to read.

This blog stuff is fun, great way to get our pictures and our fun stuff onto the web.
Thanks, Blogspot and Flickr, you make it very easy and nice.

Heavens, I fixed it! Just by adding text. Learning,,,,,,,,

fun with SuperBladePro

One of my classmates, Norm, makes these neat frames of his amazing underwater pictures, so I had to try his method on some of my flower pictures. If you use SuperBladePro, you can make tons of neat variations of these frames. Watch out, SBP is addictive. So are many other Photoshop plug-ins.

Baby Robins sure are growing

These little guys were just 4 little blue eggs a while ago, now look at them! Not much room left in the nest. The worm supply is holding up very well, and our trees have begun to re-leaf.
The catbirds have 2 nests here and they are loving our fantastic Winter Moth caterpillars too.
Pretty soon they will all begin to fly. Some of the baby cardinals and catbirds are already flying around, thank goodness we dont have any stray cats. I did have to scare away a crow yesterday though, he was getting close to the catbird nest. The crows dont like me. I wonder why.
Never had to use the Havahart trap yet, the squirrel population is very much under control, thanks for our local Foxes.
This has been a great year for our songbirds!

Spring is late, but it sure is happening!

Weve had a very wet spring, and cold. But now we are reaping the goodies, our flowers are just amazing. Rhodies and everything since the azaleas are done.
We have tons of baby birds, one of the best years for songbirds around here. Perhaps the reason is that we have lovely Foxes who keep the rodents under control. Many fewer squirrels that other years. And we have some coyotes, and they are even better rodent control. Maybe thats why there are no stray cats at all. So the songbirds are flourishing. And the Winter Moth caterpillars are everywhere, eating our Oaks and Maples, but providing the birds with the best windfall of food ever. (One of our local markets is called Windfall.)
This has been a spectacular spring! Even my bamboo is sprouting beyond expectations.
But we do need some rain,,,,,,,,,

Tied for first place.

We adopted Muffin from the Falmouth Friends of Dogs in 1992 and she and Rusty Ross(another yellowlab mix) were tied as the oldest alumni. This alumni party was the 15th year aniversary of our wonderful new dog pound. The volunteers and the town employees who make this great organization possible were congratulated along with all the alumni. Over 1000 dogs have been rescued and adopted to new happy homes.
Muffin was totally exhausted after canoeing and swimming all morning, then attending this all afternoon.
Quite a day for a 13+ year old dog.

This was a very calm and sunny weekend.

This was the first weekend in June, we had two lovely hot and calm days.
Saturday the kids swam all afternoon in the ocean, at New Silver.
Then Sunday we all went canoeing over on John's Pond. Packed a picnic lunch and then in the afternoon they all swam at the North beach on the pond.
Richie and I had to leave to take Muffin to her party, see the next post to see what that was all about. She was already tired from canoeing and swimming, but we arrived at the party at 2.
